Christmas Wreaths For Your Front Door

I know when Christmas is coming when I start sorting through my storage cupboard for my front door Christmas wreath.  I just love seeing the beautiful deep greens of the holly, the brilliant crimson of the holly berries and pine cones all completed with a big red and gold ribbon bow.  My children and my granddaughter just love it too!

But this year I had a problem. My old friend was looking very ‘dog eared’ and sad to say ‘worn out’.  I have had it for over ten years so I definitely had to get another one.  Christmas this year would not be the same if I didn’t have a Christmas wreath hanging on my front door.

So this is the story of my new Christmas front door wreath.   I had to decide whether to buy another artificial wreath which of course, would replace ‘old faithful’ or have a change and buy a lovely ‘real one for our local flower shop – which I may add – where absolutely stunning but very expensive!

I very quickly found exactly what I was looking for on Amazon and because I enjoyed the shopping there I decided to write this blog and recommend five front door wreaths which I think you will enjoy.

GKI Bethlehem Lighting Christmas Wreath

I love traditional  front door Christmas wreaths and this one certainly is traditional with the liberal sprinkling of pine cones, leaves, and fern-like stems covering its 30 inch frame .  I especially like the 100 locked-in clear mini lights which apparently stay on even if one or more bulbs are not working.  This is great because I hate it when there is one bulb broken and you have to spend ages trying to find just that one! And to crown it all it still does not work because there is one more that you have missed.  Ugh! Nightmare!

Wreaths like this are perennial.   Their appeal never seems to change and if you are a bit of a traditionalist like me then I feel this certainly fits the bill.  I must say that this was included on my Christmas door wreaths idea list.

Bucilla  Cookies and Candy Wreath Kit

Isn’t this just great!  WOW!   My daughters just love this front door wreath!  It certainly makes a statement about the family that live in the house that has this hanging on their front door! Oh my goodness…  What a talking point for your neighbours and what a bit of fun!  Don’t you just love it!
This comes in a kit and you can design it yourself as everything you need is included with instructions.  Aren’t the gingerbread boy and girl just wonderful and I love the cakes and sweets.   My granddaughter said that it looked ‘yummy’ – not a very Christmassy sentiment but lovely just the same.

The colours are very bright and jolly and I think this Christmas door wreath would be a real joy to have on my front door to greet my family and friends at Christmas.

Cordless LED Pre-lit Cone & Berry Christmas Wreath

I know! This is another traditional Christmas door wreath…  But this one is cordless and uses batteries.  Now there is a bit of a trade-off.  There is the inconvenience of you having to buy batteries and replacing them when they run out, but you don’t have unsightly cord running to a socket.  (Something I’ m not keen on but I don’t like having to keep buying batteries).

However, having one that has to be plugged into the electric supply can be left to ‘just get on with it’ and grace your front door with Christmas splendour.

I must say I really like the hollyberries and fir cones.  It is elegant and understated but truly symbolises the meaning of wreaths which date back to pagan times signally the coming of Spring and the end of cold winter nights.

Copper Door Swag for Fall and Christmas - Wreath

I have of course, shown you the traditionally circular door wreaths but how about a charming Christmas swag for your front door.  There are some really lovely designs and they are slightly different aren’t they?

This door swag can be used not only for Christmas but for the Fall.  The colours are just stunning. The swag is made up of magnolia leaves layered on lush pine leaves and completely festooned with copper ribbons.  Beautiful!

Jingle Bells Christmas Holiday Decorative Door Swag

I would also like to include this front door swag as a comparison.  Maybe the magnolia leaves and copper ribbon are not for you so how about this? Jingle bells all the way...

A final thought!

How do you hang these Christmas door wreaths on your door? Here is a link to a selections of hangers that Amazon recommend.

All that is left to be said is:

"MERRY CHRISTMAS EVERYONE AND I HOPE YOU WILL ALL BE TRULY BLESSED THROUGHOUT THE COMING YEAR"
